A day with Simon is a day spent with Father Thames himself . All species all areas of angling completely and efficiently covered whilst enjoying the whole experience. Ian Russell
My dad and I made the trip down from Norfolk, as we have always wanted to fish the famous river Thames. We could have had a go ourselves but felt we needed some local knowledge. We booked a day session on the boat with Simon. The spots he took us to were very remote and had been prepped during the days before our visit. All in all we had a great laugh on the boat and will definitely be back in the not so distant future!! Max Marsham
I had a Great 24 Hours With Si aboard the boat, a wealth of information, we tried our hardest to catch, it didn't happen but I really wasn't fussed as I really enjoyed myself, I would highly recommend this for the experienced or not so experienced angler Si will definitely cater for anyone. Arriving at the meeting point, Si was already waiting for me and was very welcoming. Once on the boat we set out to an urban hot spot for predators. Si had the pike tactics perfect, talking me through the set up and methods in great detail. I landed three pike up to 12lb which for the river conditions was amazing. Si was very knowledgeable with any questions I asked. Throughout the day I realised that the Thames is such an incredible river and with Si's guidance, you could really achieve a Thames target of your own!" Lukas Hughes
Simon’s an absolute pleasure to spend a day (or two) on the river with. His knowledge of the Thames is outstanding and his outlook on both fishing and life in general is a breath of fresh air. We caught around 4-5 different species of fish and until I went out with Simon, I hadn’t quite realised how much of an angling paradise the Thames actually is. This adventure is definitely unique and you’ll be left wanting more for sure. Joe Jagger
Myself and a friend booked a predator trip out with Si for the beginning of November. We hadn’t done much pike or perch fishing before so we were really looking forward to our day. Even though it was a predator day, Si said would we like to fish for some barbel later that evening, because the conditions were perfect for it. We jumped at the chance, having never caught a barbel before. We were shown so many methods, rigs and tactics throughout the day, even how to use a centre pin reel for catching live baits. All in all we had a fantastic day. Si is a top guide, he really knows his way around the river and does his best to put you on the fish. Scott Wickens
I have had two excellent trips now with si, one from the bank and one from the boat, both great fun, informative and very different! Will be booking again soon with a big Thames barbel in mind! Well worth a trip for something a little different
I went fishing with Simon on the Thames back in September fishing for Barbel. Life on the boat was a welcome break from the rain as it was pretty wet most of the day. After cruising down to the spot of choice we put the rods out and sat waiting. About an hour passed and one of the rods pulled tight. I picked it up and new it was good fish, as it pulled hard and felt weighty. After a while I got a glimpse of it and saw the size of it before it was safely in the net. Looking in we saw a double figure Barbel, a proper blind old warrior! A weigh in and a few photos later, she was back in the thames to carry on business as usual. An incredible fish, the length of it was amazing. After a while we packed up and tried a couple of other spots, Sadly no more barbel, but we managed to catch a perch which was a nice bonus. A good days fishing by anyone’s standards! Lou Coggins.
I did a 24hr Session with Si on the Mother Thames at Richmond, it was hard going but with Si ‘s unquestionable knowledge of the Thames and all things Fishing, he made it a pleasurable experience . I for sure will book again , even to just sit by the river and drink brews and chat all things fishing and life . Terry Martin
As soon as we met in Trowlock car park and heard that softly spoken northern tone from across the way, I knew the next 24 hours would be something special!
After boarding the boat, we set off down the Thames with anticipation of what the adventure was to hold for us.
Having never been on the Thames before, or fished from a boat, it was all new to us and needles to say our tutor was second to none.
After predator fishing during the day and bagging up with perch we moored the old girl up and set up camp for the evening on the banks of the Thames! Shortly after setting up and sitting back with a beer listening to Si’s endless stories of times gone by, the rod ripped off and I was into and quickly landing my first ever barbel and fish from the river!
With the rods back out and the nightly party bus passing on by I quickly fell in love with the place.
Another screaming take, but this time after Sam slipped the net under the fish it was apparent this was a much better one and when we saw the scales ping round to 12lb on the nose, the cuddles and high fives followed and was a real session maker!
Couldn’t recommend Si’s trips enough and as it happens will be back on the boat with him in Mid January with my son!
Brilliant day out on The Griffin, what Si doesn't know about the Thames isn't worth knowing! Even with the conditions against us we still managed to get amongst them. Great day out, highly recommended! David Bayne
A Day To Remember! I have known Si for some time, a true inspiration to me in fishing. I've always wanted to fish the Thames but I just didn't know where to start! It so happened I saw one of Si's post on Instagram that advertised a guided fishing trip on the Thames. This was perfect for myself and my partner as we wanted some help and guidance of starting out on the Thames.
Si is a top guy he has got time for anyone and really made me feel at ease. I'd never fished for barbel before so I learnt a hell of a lot which has helped me. Rigs, spots, bait and fishing gear was all discussed.
If you want to fish the Thames but don't know where to start or even if you have before and need some guidance then Thames Angling Adventures is something you should do. I can't wait to do this again, thanks Si! Bex Nelson
